The NY Post Reports:
Despite state incentives for gas station owners to add alternative fuels to their line-up, not a single Big Apple station pumps biodiesel directly into cars and trucks. Janis’ operation is it.
“You can’t find it,” said Mike Esterson, a record label executive living in Chinatown, who came to get fuel for his ’86 BMW.
Dan Eliades, a VW Jetta-driving programmer who came all the way from Commack to get 15 gallons, talks about it like it’s some kind of evasive recreational drug: “I tried it one time. It’s hard to come across. A friend told me about this place, so I figured I’d come out and try it.”
