  1. Wow. I have been hearing for so long how Algae is the future of Biodiesel, but this picture really shows how any potential energy source (from oil to corn to chickens or cows – energy for humans) can be devastating to the environment on a large industrial scale. Thanks for the captivating photo.

  2. Hi Shane,
Just curious, other than visual, could you explain the “environmental devastation” you see illustrated in this photo?

  3. It is a freaking desert. You can’t have everything, you want cheap renewable fuel sources, as well as off the dependancy of foreign oil and then complain about a freakin desert and it environment impact. Get over yourselves. I think it looks wonderful and it is one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a long time. Keep it up!!!

  4. New to all of this but have been a green investor for some time. Check out Valcent Products for a better use of land and water. My blog has a post about them too.

  5. I think algae biofuel will be great for the environment while reducing global CO2 levels. This will help offset the emissions from smoke stacks and other environmental pollution sources. I would like to see methane digesters get more attention considering how harmful unburned methane can be to the environment.

  6. National Algae Association has events scheduled in December and January. Email westcoastinfo@nationalalgaeassociation.com for more information.
